Damian Mitsch


Damian is a career Association Professional having held executive roles in some of Australia’s largest allied health membership organisations. Damian is responsible for the overall management of the ADA. Damian’s has had previous company directorship experience including positions on the Board of Austin Health, The Butterfly Foundation, Chair of the National Primary Health Care Partnership, a director of Allied Health Professions Australia and President of The Bridge Inc. Damian is passionate about innovation, change and leadership. He holds an MBA and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.


Eithne Irving

Deputy CEO & General Manager, Policy

As the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Manager of Policy, Eithne has responsibility for a wide range of issues affecting the dental profession. With extensive experience in both clinical and regulatory environments, Eithne has unique access to government and regulatory bodies bureaucracy that ensures the ADA’s voice is heard at all levels. She represents the ADA on a number of external bodies where she is a knowledgeable and articulate advocate for the dental profession.


Deborah Leake

General Manager, Membership

In this role, Deborah oversees a range of activities including the development and delivery of member services that can be delivered nationally, such as the CPD Portal and the HR and Pharma advisory services, and administration of federal membership. Her main goal is to get a better understanding of the differing needs of members throughout their career so we can deliver the right support at the right time.



Matthew Connor

General Manager, Communications

Tasked with overseeing the general communications strategy of the Association, Matthew coordinates the creation of the content and its dissemination through this website, social media channels, print and digital publications, and direct marketing. He works closely with every department on a variety of campaigns and events including Dental Health Week and the Australian Dental Congress.
A passionate believer in keeping members fully informed and equipped,
Matthew loves to play rugby in his spare time.


Oscar van Elten

General Manager, Events & Sales

Since 2009, Oscar has led the team that delivers the Australian Dental Association’s signature and largest Continuing Professional Development event for Dentistry in Australia - the Australian Dental Congress and its associated exhibition. He further administers partnerships and non-membership revenue for the association including national advertising and the ADA’s Seal of Approval programme. An event manager for over 25 years, Oscar also provides his professional and philanthropic support to an assortment of Australian charities.


Carmen Izurieta

General Manager, Corporate Services

Carmen joined the ADA in September 2017 and is responsible for Human Resources, Governance, Risk, Finance, Technology, Property and Legal. Prior to joining the ADA, Carmen held senior roles at the Australian Institute of Company Directors and within the University sector. Carmen has a degree in Management and Psychology from the University of Canberra, a practicing certificate in Project Management and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Carmen is also a founding partner of the Global Governance Initiative which provides practical governance information and education that bridges the gap between governance theory and execution.


Amelia Seselja

Oral Health Promotion Consultant

An Oral Health Therapist, Amelia is passionate about advancing the oral health of all Australians. As the ADA’s Oral Health Consultant, Amelia works closely with its Oral Health Committee, delivering a diverse range of oral health promotion campaigns such as Dental Health Week as well as chairing the ADA’s Oral Health Working Group.  She also works closely with the Australian Dental Health Foundation to develop and implement oral health projects and programs for the most disadvantaged in our community.
